April is National Donate Life Month

Donate Life Month is a nationally recognized month focused on raising awareness and engagement for organ, eye and tissue donation. This year’s Donate Life Month theme is “Bee a Donor,” as bees play a vital role in sustaining life. Bees are a small but powerful life force, working together with dedication, collaboration and a strong sense of community. In that same community spirit, New Yorkers are stepping up in amazing and profound ways to save lives through organ, eye and tissue donation. This remarkable act of kindness and generosity by donors and their families leaves a lasting legacy and has given thousands the opportunity to celebrate more birthdays, spend more time with loved ones, and do amazing things with their second chance at life. Through your continued partnership, over 1,000 organs were transplanted in 2021 - the most ever in our service area in one year thanks to your support. Donate Life Month is an incredibly powerful month where the voices of many and impact and save more lives.
